Federal grant review files, 1987-[ongoing].

Federal grant applications in Alabama are submitted to the Alabama State Clearinghouse in the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA). ADECA coordinates grant activities statewide and maintains statistics on grants. ADECA sends copies of grant applications to concerned departments with a cover memo asking for comments, concurrence, or objections. Administrative Procedures responds to such inquiries by sending the original cover memo back to ADECA with their opinion and keeping the application copy and a copy of the memo. They inform local DHR offices or divisions of grant requests when they deem it appropriate.
